PALACIO QUEMADO<\/strong>\u00a0is located in\u00a0Extremadura,<\/strong>\u00a0DO Ribera del Guadiana, in south-western Spain.\u00a0 the winery has 230 acres of 16 year old vine, 50% are\u00a0Tempranillo<\/strong>\u00a0and the rest are other varieties well adapted to the are: Garnacha, Syrah, Petit Verot and local grapes. The climate of this region is softened by its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean.<\/p>\n In January 2015, Palacio Quemado became part os Grandes Pagos de Espa\u00f1a, an association of Spanish wine producers dedicated to upholding and promoting very high quality single estate wine and all that is entailed in its production. Wines that faithfully reflect the soils, subsoils and climate from which they hail, each offering an unmistakable personality that only be drawn from a specific terroir.<\/p>\n Family Owned.<\/strong><\/p>\n Founded in 1999 by the\u00a08th Generation of the Alvear family<\/strong>\u00a0steeped in tradition, experience, know-how and passion. Since 2010, the\u00a0Envinate group<\/strong>, a winemaking company that focuses on exploring distinctive parcels mainly in the Atlantic-influenced regions of Ribeira Sacra, Extremadura and the Canary Islands are in charge of Palacio Quemado’s winemaking. Each plot of vines is managed and vinified separately, based on its diferent soils and orientations.\u00a0Minimum intervention in the winer<\/strong>y with great care to the rgapes: the grapes enter in the winery and tanks almost without crushing, preventing it from breaking, to preserve the personality of each plot (of each variety) and the nature of the vintage. Ageing is done in\u00a0second use 500 liters barriques<\/strong>respecting the work in the vineyard. O. Ribera del Guadiana, que expresen las caracter\u00edsticas de las tierras extreme\u00f1as pero que, adem\u00e1s de poseer esta personalidad propia, est\u00e9n igualmente adaptados al gusto de la exportaci\u00f3n, ya que es el siguiente objetivo de la empresa para trasladar los \u00e9xitos cosechados en el mercado nacional al resto del mundo.<\/span>
\nEl proyecto se organiza en dos actividades diferenciadas entre campo y bodega, donde se est\u00e1n llevando a cabo distintas estrategias de cultivo en las variedades que tiene la empresa e introduciendo nuevas, para evaluar su evoluci\u00f3n y adaptaci\u00f3n, ya que son interesante para enriquecer los vinos actuales de la bodega. En cuanto a la fase de bodega, se est\u00e1n realizando pruebas con distintos materiales y vol\u00famenes para la fermentaci\u00f3n y en la crianza.<\/span>
\nResultados: Actualmente el proyecto est\u00e1 en una fase inicial, donde se ha visto una buena adaptaci\u00f3n de las nuevas variedades introducidas y en cuanto a las estrategias de cultivo, se continua realizando ensayos, para ver el efecto seg\u00fan las caracter\u00edsticas deseadas en el vino. En cuanto a los ensayos de bodega, se est\u00e1 viendo que en dep\u00f3sitos grandes y con hormig\u00f3n se van teniendo vinos mas afinados.
